The Cypress Point Winter Carnival
The Point Artist-Run Centre is celebrating winter this February 18th, 2017 with a spirited good time on the shore of Alta Lake. Come down and enjoy free events for children and adults from noon to 5pm and live entertainment form 6pm on. Show up in costume or dive into the tickle trunk on location and whip something up on the spot for a Narnia-themed winter carnival!
There’s going to be so many things to do at the Cypress Point Winter Carnival that we had to make you an actual list! Activities during the day will include:
- Snow sculpting and ice carving contests
- Curling and pond hockey
- Doughnut eating contest
- Live music
- Live painting
- Fireside singalong
- Speakers’ Corner and more
All these activities are gonna make you pretty hungry but don’t worry, they got it covered. Purchase some hot chili, bannock, or raclette at the outdoor kitchen and treat yourself with a hot chocolate, mulled wine or cold drink at the ice bar. All the ingredients you need to have a good time at a carnival.
The ticketed evening show starts at 6pm and will be featuring premiere Canadian rockabilly and roots band – Cousin Harley! Other things to look forward to for the evening are Get to The Point Improv Comedy, Winter Monologues, a live art auction, and a rollicking good time!
Tickets are available with dinner or just for the evening show at ThePointArtists.com and at Armchair Books in the village square.
