Whistler Local's Prepare for Summer
A guest post from Lodging Ovations' Katie Robinson:
I've heard on multiple occasions people use the line "you come to Whistler for the winters but you stay in Whistler because of the summers" and I 100% agree with this statement.
The Whistler Summer Buzz Has Arrived!
As winter sports have started to come to an end for most Whistler locals, it is very visible in Creekside that people are starting to get excited for summer. You can see and hear people making plans and preparing for everything summer in Whistler and the Sea to Sky area offers. With the recent beautiful weather we are seeing the slow but steady emergence of sandals, shorts, bikes, discs and even a few of those sleepy bears all over Creekside.
Whistler Bike Parks Opens
With the Whistler Bike Park opening in a few short weeks and the trails clearing, every day more and more bikes are coming out of winter hibernation.
Frisbee Golf Lives in Whistler
One of my summer favorites is Frisbee golf, also known as Frolf, or Disc Golf and over the last couple of years it has become a very popular local's favorite. It gets you into the outdoors, involves a hike and some healthy competition, but most of all you relax and enjoy the sunny weather with good friends.
The Whistler slo-pitch league is another local favorite starting next week, which includes 60 teams in different divisions playing every night of the week. Most businesses in Whistler have a staff team and the Legends Creekside team is forming nicely with a sign-up sheet in every staff room.
If you haven't started making plans for summer, now is the time to start thinking about and preparing for the ultimate summer experience and all the activities that will be right at your door step when staying in Whistler's Creekside!
