Crush Gala Grand Tasting
When/ Friday & Saturday - 8:30 - 11PM, Where/ Whistler Conference Centre, Cost/ $89
The Crush Gala Tasting is the marquee event of Cornucopia. This is the biggest and most talked about party of the weekend. Think of the event like Costco on its busiest days. Why, because it's all about the samples. This event attracts all the biggest wineries and liquor companies looking to push their FREE swag on you. Sample away for two and half hours while you take in the amazing decor of the room. Note the Crush Gala does not serve food this is strictly an alcohol only party so make sure you eat up before you come.
Wineries at Every Price Point
When/ Saturday - 2PM - 3:30PM, Where/ Whistler Conference Centre, Cost/ $49
This event is strictly for people looking to get into the wine scene or expand their knowledge on wine. All you wine experts move down the list. This event is a quick crash course on buying wines at the $10, $20, $30, $40 and $50 dollar price points. Barbara and Iain Philip will guide you through what the extra money gets you at each price point and why they are priced accordingly. Have you ever wondered what the difference between a box of wine and a top shelf Cabernet
Sauvignon are well here's your chance to find out.
Chef's Trip to the Farm
When/ Saturday - 9AM - 12PM, Where/ North Arm Farm (Pemberton), Cost/ $145
For all you early morning risers I've got an event for you. The Chef's Trip to the Farm is exactly what the title entails; You and the Executive Chef of the Fairmont Whistler Vincent Stufano will be heading 25 minutes north of Whistler to Pemberton to visit the North Arm Farm. And you ask why would I do such a thing; because this is where most of Whistler's top restaurants get their fresh produce. Farm owner Jordan Sturdy will lead you through his fields and talk you through the process of growing your own organic produce. After that Chef Stufano will lead you back to the country kitchen and make you an amazing meal with fresh ingredients straight from the farm. This event is always popular with the outdoor loving crowd who like to know where there food comes from.
The Barley Sandwich
When/ Sunday - 5PM - 6:30PM, Where/ Whistler Conference Centre, Cost/ $30
If you've tasted so much wine by Sunday you don't want to see another grape again for months than why not switch it up..... and try sampling some beer instead! The Barley Sandwich event is great place for the lager lover in the group. Join DJ Kearney as she guides you through a crash course on the world of exotic beers. Taste a range of different beers from clean, crisp lager; robust real ales; limbic; complex trappiste; thirst-slaking hefeweizen plus a few surprises. Switch those wine glasses in for beer mugs Sunday night for this brew event.
