WHISTLER, BC JULY 7, 2010 - Lodging Ovations trio of upscale resort hotels are ready to welcome families for summer fun with a package that will take them from peak to peak.
Starting from $79 per person, per night*, guests can enjoy two nights accommodation in a Lodging Ovations resort hotel, as well as a day of sightseeing on Whistler Blackcomb's record-breaking PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola for summer sliding, sightseeing and hiking.
*The starting from rate is based on two adults sharing a one bedroom at Legends July 3-Sept 6, 2010 and a one day PEAK 2 PEAK sightseeing pass per person. Children under 18 years of age stay free. Based on availability, taxes and fees are extra. Restrictions may apply. Sightseeing passes for children available at an extra cost.
"Families gravitate towards Whistler Creekside for its diverse offering of kid-friendly activities as well as the many affordable restaurants and services found in the area," says Jaime Dunn, Director of Sales and Marketing for Lodging Ovations. "The neighbourhood is more laid-back than Whistler Village and Creekside gives our guests everything they need in a setting just steps away from the wilderness."
Whistler Creekside makes it easy to unwind while still being able to take advantage of Whistler's recreational opportunities. On July 17 and 18 Whistler Creekside will play host to the 27th annual Whistler's Children's Arts Festival. Colourful art workshops, music, acrobatics, theatre and dance will transform Whistler Creekside into a haven of fun for kids of all ages. Most of the workshops are designed for kids aged five to 11 years old, although the festival also has an area for children three to five years old and more challenging workshops for kids aged twelve and thirteen. For more information, visit the Whistler Arts Council website at ArtsWhistler.com.
Visitors staying in Creekside who are eager to explore the lakes and trails can access the Valley Trail system, which stretches from the north end of Whistler to the south end, passing by Creekside and accessible to both Alpha and Nita Lake. Nearby Alpha Lake Park features a large play structure, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts as well as swimming platforms and a beach. Fishing is also a popular pastime at both Alpha Lake and Nita Lake, with Rainbow Trout and Kokanee Salmon swimming in the pristine mountain waters.
The following amenities are available at Evolution, First Tracks Lodge and Legends: complimentary wireless internet, high definition flat screen televisions (First Tracks Lodge and Evolution), fully outfitted kitchens, fireplaces, private balconies. Large outdoor pools, hot tubs, sundecks and barbeque areas are also located on each property.
