Canadian World Cup Downhill Race | July 4 - 6
Event Details: The Downhill race is the main event of the weekend and takes place at the Whistler Sliding Centre. During the event heats of 4 longboarders will race down the Sliding Centre's gnarly 1.6KM track which features a 1000 foot vertical drop, seven 180 degree hairpin turns and 12 corners. Riders will be racing down at breakneck speeds while having to navigate the track and their competitors as well. Over 200 riders will be participating in this year's event in the following categories: Women, Juniors, Groms and Masters. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 racers in each category.
Viewing Details: Admission is FREE to anyone who wants to come and watch the races. Bystanders can access the track via a FREE chairlift ride in the upper village square (base of Blackcomb Mountain). From here people are encouraged to gather at different viewing points along the track. There will be specific spots set aside for viewing. At the bottom of the track there will be a beer garden and food truck serving the crowds.

The ultra-popular Skate + Shoot Biathlon is essentially the same as a Winter Biathlon but on a skateboard. During the event Skaters will have to complete two laps of the 5KM course while stopping at 2 firing ranges. Here competitors will use a .22 caliber target rifle to shoot at 5 targets in the background. For each missed target the competitor will have to complete an extra 150KM penalty lap.
