Big WSSF Concert News
Back in February it was
announced that the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW)
would be investing $135,000 to augment this year's World Ski &
Snowboard Festival (WSSF) concert lineup.The money was to
go towards booking big name musical acts for the up-coming
event.
The Artists
Well it appears it payed off because it was recently announced that Nas, G-Love and Special Sauce, The Arkells and Dirty Radio have been added to the concert lineup this April.
In particular Nas one of the biggest names in Hip Hop was a complete shocker! Since releasing his debut album Illmatic in 1994 which contained the classic's the 'The World is Yours' and 'N.Y State of Mind' he has gone on to release 13 albums worldwide. One the most significant names in rap he is often listed as one of the greatest lyricists and MC's of all time. Nas is set to hit the stage Saturday, April 13 at 4PM.
Also recently added to the lineup was Jack Johnson's frequent collaborator G-Love and Special Sauce (Saturday, April 20). Canadian boys The Arkells (Sunday, April 21) will be joining their countrymen K-OS (Friday, April 19) and Swollen Members (Saturday, April 20) for a night on the WSSF concert stage.
The Concert Series
If you're asking yourself this sounds awesome all these great bands but how much to buy a ticket? Guess what the WSSF Concert Series is absolutely FREE to attend.
The Concert Series runs everyday during the 10 day festival and takes place at Skiers Plaza - the base of Whistler Mountain. This amazing concert stage over looks Whistler Mountain is capable of housing thousands.
