No Sun, No Snow, No Problem
Often times, Whistler Blackcomb is only looked at as a ski resort in the winter and mountain biking destination in the summer, leaving the months of October and November to be easily forgotten. However, there are a number of exciting things still happening in Whistler during these shoulder months. Not to mention, that hotel rates are substantially reduced, making for an affordable fall getaway for the entire family.
Whistler Creekside is a fantastic destination for a fall vacation. While you may not be able to ride the Creekside gondola up the mountain yet, there are still a number of activities available in the area. Why not take a fall stroll around the valley trail or Nita Lake and enjoy the brisk mountain air and fall foliage. If you prefer to stay indoors curl up with a good book by the in-suite fire place at First Tracks Lodge, enjoy a movie in the media room at Evolution, or take the kids to the playroom in Legends. With 20% off and free parking, now is the perfect time to visit Whistler.
There are also several events and activities available throughout the resort. November 10, 2011 marks the start of Cornucopia, Whistler's most prestigious food and wine event. In addition, the Whistler Art's council also hosts a Performance Series at Millennium Place featuring different musical talents and other performing artists including comedians and children's performers. View the full performance series schedule for all of the featured November events.
November also marks a month of movie screenings and art exhibits in Whistler. That's Fine, a Voluerz Movie has been screening all over North America and will wrap up its tour in Whistler on November 20. The final screening will be held at The Longhorn Bar and Saloon and the show begins at 7 pm.
Despite many pre conceived notions that Whistler really isn't a ghost town in fall months. With so much to see and do, fantastic hotel rates and the thrill of winter on the horizon, Autumn is the perfect time to escape to Whistler.
